Report line: Art director ⎮ Department: Art.
- Create stylized characters and props (sculpt, model, UV, texture and create materials) using advanced techniques, including substance designer and painter.
- Set the tone and review character creation pipeline.
- Create and maintain a reliable schedule that is well coordinated with production.
- Work closely with art director to ensure the visual target is always met and stylistically consistent.
- Work closely with animation, technology team to ensure that the assets are optimized and integrated smoothly into the project.
- Mentor and manage the 3D artists by providing creative and technical direction, feedback, training, guidance, etc.
- High proficiency in a major DCCs such as Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter and Photoshop. Substance Designer and Marvelous Designer is a plus.
- Excellent high and low poly modeling skills, as well as demonstrated skill with texture and shader creation within a PBR pipeline.
- Strong knowledge of human and animal anatomy, materials and garbs.
- Solid grasp of color theory and lighting techniques for quality presentation and the best player experience.
- 5+ years in the game industry with 3 shipped titles and 1 shipped title as a lead character artist
- Ability to rapidly master proprietary tools and development pipelines.
- Ability to be resourceful and come up with creative solutions.
- Ability to be receptive to art direction and critiques.
- Good communication skills (Vietnamese and English) with the ability to effectively coordinate with producers, programmers, designers, as well as artists.
- Organizational, supervisory and mentoring skills.
